DENVER, CO — Today, NRDC Action Fund, a leading climate and environmental advocacy organization, announced their endorsement of Michael Bennet for Governor of Colorado. The endorsement highlights Michael’s proven leadership in fighting for Colorado’s environment, public lands, and water.
“We are proud to endorse Michael Bennet for Governor of Colorado,” said Jed Ober, Managing Director of NRDC Action Fund. “Colorado is on the frontlines of the climate crisis and deserves a Governor with a proven track record of delivering for Colorado communities. Throughout his career, Michael has been a fierce advocate for Colorado’s environment, public lands, and water. He has a clear vision to ensure Colorado leads the fight to hold polluters accountable, safeguard public lands from Trump’s attacks, and protect our climate.”
“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of NRDC Action Fund,” said Michael. “I’ve spent my career working shoulder-to-shoulder with Coloradans and advocates to protect our land, air, and water for generations to come. Colorado is the most beautiful place in the world, and as Governor, I will continue to fight Donald Trump’s assault on our climate, hold polluters accountable, and protect Colorado’s water.”
Throughout his career, Michael has led the work to protect Colorado’s climate, public lands, and water. In the Senate, he led – and won – the fight to stop Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans’ sell off of public lands. He partnered with local leaders across Colorado to prevent new oil and gas development in the Thompson Divide and near the City of Durango, establish Camp Hale, Chimney Rock, and Browns Canyon as national monuments, and support the Shoshone Project on the Western slope. While his opponent, Phil Weiser, was raising money from the Oil and Gas industry and sitting out the vast majority of multistate lawsuits to protect our environment from Trump’s chaos, Michael was delivering results time and time again.
Michael is the only candidate in the race with a clear, actionable plan to hold polluters accountable, cut emissions, and reinvest in communities most impacted by pollution and climate change. He has released comprehensive platforms to secure Colorado’s water future, protect Colorado’s outdoors, invest in our forests and wildfire mitigation, and ensure Colorado continues to lead the nation in renewable energy innovation.
