DENVER, CO – CBS Colorado reported last night that Phil Weiser backed out of their June 15 debate just four days before it was scheduled to take place.
His excuse? “Something came up.” Asked about another date? “I don’t think so. Apologies.”
Phil’s sudden change of heart came after CBS Colorado asked questions about his campaign receiving approximately $75,000 from 68 attorneys at 12 law firms that had litigation before the Attorney General’s Office.
To borrow a phrase from Phil, that’s B.S., and Coloradans can see right through it.
“We’re calling on Phil Weiser to stop hiding from Colorado voters. Explain why you canceled the debate. Explain why donations from corporate attorneys with business before your office are no longer a conflict of interest – when you admitted they were on your last campaign. And explain whether you plan to return the $75,000,” said Bennet for Governor spokesperson Jordan Fuja.
Time is ticking. Day 8. Still no answer.
