Michael Bennet seeks a Deputy Political Director to help manage and execute the political strategy for his gubernatorial campaign. This full-time position is based in Denver, CO and will report to the Political Director in managing political priorities, creating and finding events pertinent to the campaign, creating a caucus and field strategy, and helping manage volunteer/surrogate engagement.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Engage with the Political Director to design and execute political events for Senator Bennet’s campaign.
- Build upon the caucus plan with the Political Director for the State Assembly.
- Help galvanize and organize our volunteer base and deploy them tactfully to events across the state.
- Manage and delegate operational needs for the political team.
- Operationalize the coalition plan with the Political Director.
- Collaborate closely with the communications, political, and finance teams to ensure Political efforts support the broader campaign.
Ideal Candidates Will:
- Have excellent people skills.
- Be creative, detail-oriented, and a good communicator.
- Have good relationships with community stakeholders and elected officials – preferably state-wide but regional experience is acceptable.
- Ability to manage large stakeholder groups and keep detailed tabs of events happening around the state.
- Thrive in a fast-paced campaign environment and remain flexible for rapid response and breaking news.
- Be collaborative, positive, and able to maintain a sense of humor under pressure.
- Be a Colorado resident or have ties to Colorado
- (Preferred) Have previous experience working on political campaigns, in advocacy organizations, or in government affairs and/or Spanish-language proficiency.
Expected Salary Range: $5,500-$7,000 monthly
